Flag Making

We manufacture flags using four methods- machine sewing (appliqué), screen printing (dye printing), digital printing, and embroidery. In some cases, subject to client preference, we may digitally print a small area of fabric to create a badge, which is a useful and cost effective method of manufacture for crests, coats of arms and other intricate work. We then appliqué the badge to the field of the flag.

All flags are manufactured using high quality components and are hemmed all around. Most flags are usually finished with a strong headband complete with polyester rope and wooden toggle or clip ready to fly, subject to client specification. Flags may also be finished with a sleeve for a pole, brass eyelets or inglefield clips.

All flags are manufactured in the traditional way ie "mirror image", flags reading correctly to the front side and a perfect mirror image to the reverse. We also manufacture double sided flags (reading correctly to both sides), perhaps also with a light barrier interlining, on client request.

SCREEN PRINTING
Stage 1: Graphic designers adapt your documents and artwork to suit your chosen method of manufacture.
Stage 2: Screens are engraved using the most up to date technology. The biggest screen size is more than 20m².
Stage 3: Colours are mixed in this fully automated department.
Stage 4: Printing – Four Zimmer printing machines produce your order with accuracy and speed.
Stage 5: Heat-fixation – after printing the colours are fixed at high temeprature to make the colours brighter and to ensure durability and vibrancy in all weathers.
Stage 6: Washing – five successive washing cycles give the colours their brightness and the cloth its softness.
Stage 7: Setting – five ovens at a temperature of 135ºC guarantee the size stability of the flag. This stage allows waterproofing for parasols and fireproofing for indoor products.
Stage 8: Sewing – all products are manufactured with quality materials to ensure optimum life.
DIGITAL PRINTING
Option 1: Soft PVC is printed with a high resolution technique in 5 metre widths which ensures an excellent colour production.
Option 2: Textile digital printing allows, at low cost, the production of single items.
